आयोग की ओर से छठी सिविल सेवा के लिए जो अधिसूचना जारी की गई है, उसमें वित्त सेवा के लिए अभ्यर्थियों के उम्र की गणना के निर्धारण की अलग व्यवस्था है। इसके तहत कट ऑफ डेट एक अगस्त 2010 रखा गया है, यानी अन्य पदों के लिए जो अभ्यर्थी अधिकतम उम्र सीमा की वजह से फॉर्म भरने के लिए अयोग्य हो जाएंगे, पर वित्त सेवा के लिए वे आवेदन कर सकते हैं। ऐसे में एक ही सिविल सेवा परीक्षा में दो पदों के लिए अलग- अलग कट ऑफ डेट निर्धारित करने पर भी मामला पेचीदा हो गया है। हालांकि, पांचवी सिविल सेवा में भी वित्त सेवा के 31 पद थे, पर आयोग की ओर से कट ऑफ डेट की अलग से व्यवस्था नहीं की गई थी..
